Summary

A watching brief maintained during various groundworks at this site in 2022 recorded no archaeologically-significant features or deposits. There was evidence for considerable recent disturbance, which presumably occurred during the original construction of the water treatment works.

Monitoring of groundworks associated with installation of various new structures at water treatment works.
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were recorded.
There was evidence for considerable recent disturbance, with a layer of redeposited material and modern waste lying directly above the natural deposits across much of the site. A subsoil or colluvial deposit did though survive in lower lying areas. Several fragments of animal bone were recovered from this deposit.
