Summary

An excavation at the rear of No 79 King street recovered some post-medieval pottery fragments, and it is also possible that further excavations revealed layers down to the 11th century, including medieval domestic rubbish, but this is uncertain.

Newspaper cutting in file dated 11 April 1986 but source not noted (EEN?) states further NAU excavations at that time revealed layers down to the 11th century including a 'tip full of medieval domestic rubbish'.
No NAU report received for this work by 1999 and apparently no record at Garsett House.
