Map

July 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A series of fragmented linear ditch features of a possible medieval to post medieval date, are seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The features most likely relate to a series of former field boundaries. The features are most likely medieval to post medieval in date and may have related to at least two phases. It is possible that some of the features may be earlier (possibly Iron Age to Roman) in date. The cropmarks of post medieval boundaries recorded on the readily available historic maps (for example S4) are also visible on the consulted sources. These features have not been mapped as they are recorded in good detail on the historic maps.
