Full Description
June 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a U-shaped ditch of a possible Neolithic date are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The origin of the feature is uncertain, although, it is possible that the feature may relate to a Neolithic oval enclosure or long barrow. It is also possible that the feature may be natural in origin. The U-shaped ditch appears to be overlain by the cropmarks of a probable Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 65646). The feature is seen well on S1 and can also be seen faintly on S2 and S3.
This feature was previously recorded as part of NHER 24979.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 30 June 2022.
