Full Description
July 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Sections of a possible double ditched rectilinear enclosure of an uncertain date are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The feature is on a similar alignment to an area of possible Medieval to post medieval field boundaries and trackways (NHER 52542) recorded in close proximity. It is possible that the feature may date to the Medieval to post medieval period, equally, from the form of the feature it is possible to suggest an earlier Iron Age to Roman date. A range of multiperiod finds (NHER 23835) (including Roman and medieval) have been previously recorded across the area.
