NHER 65782 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Site of a probable Bronze Age round barrow

The cropmarks of a probable Bronze Age ring ditch are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The ring ditch most likely relates to the site of a Bronze Age round barrow. The ring ditch is conjoined to a second ring ditch to the east (NHER 65783). A pit feature can be seen approximately in the centre of the ring ditch. The pit feature may relate to a burial; however, it is also possible that the pit may relate to a dense area of geological cropmarks visible across the site. A third probable Bronze Age ring ditch (NHER 65781) is recorded in close proximity, approximately 20m to the north. The ring ditch may form part of a Bronze Age barrow cemetery (NHER 66789) along with the cropmarks of further probable Bronze Age ring ditches recorded in the vicinity.
