Map

July 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Probable post medieval field boundaries can be seen as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1). The features most likely date to the post medieval period although an earlier, medieval date cannot be ruled out. The boundaries are in close relation to a possible medieval moat (NHER 21832), recorded approximately 75m to the to east. The cropmarks of post medieval boundaries recorded on the readily available historic maps (for example S2) are also visible on the consulted sources. These features have not been mapped as they are recorded in good detail on the historic maps. The cropmarks of post medieval and modern drainage can be seen across the area. Its possible that some of the mapped features may relate to drainage rather than post medieval field boundaries.
