Map

July 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A linear ditch feature of an uncertain date is seen as cropmark on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The linear ditch feature is in close proximity to a possible Medieval moat (NHER 21832) and probable post medieval field boundaries (NHER 65787). It is possible that the linear ditch feature may relate to a medieval to post medieval boundary ditch. An area of dense geological cropmarks and multiple post medieval to modern drainage ditches are also visible on the aerial photographs. It is therefore also possible that the linear ditch feature may relate to a natural feature or possibly a modern drainage ditch. The linear ditch feature was not visible on the readily available historic maps (for example S3).
