Summary

A possible causeway, probably of post medieval date, is visible as an earthwork on visualised lidar data. It may be associated with the site of a possible windmill, wind pump or drainage mill (NHER 36469), which is located at its eastern end. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017), it is likely that the earthwork still survives.

A possible causeway, probably of post medieval date, is visible as an earthwork on visualised lidar data (S1). It may be associated with the site of a possible windmill, wind pump or drainage mill (NHER 36469), which is located at its eastern end. Alternatively, it could simply be related to drainage, perhaps marking a former drain, acting as a flood bank, or simply being the product of maintaining and clearing out the drainage network. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017), it is likely that the earthwork still survives.
