Full Description

June 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Possible ridge and furrow of medieval date is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs (S1-S2). It is not visible on the most recent available imagery (S3) and has presumably been levelled.

April 2025. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of proposed development site.
This survey identified no evidence for potentially associated remains.

October 2025. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of proposed development site.
This work identified two north-to-south aligned ditches in this area that were in additional to those associated with the former boundaries shown on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map (S5). One produced post-medieval ceramic building material.
