Summary

At least two ring ditches, possibly the remains of Bronze Age round barrows, and a linear ditch, perhaps of Roman date, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. Geophysical survey and evaluation excavations in this area (NHER 64820) did not identify the ring ditches, but suggested that the linear ditch may be part of a Roman enclosure.

At least two ring ditches, possibly the remains of Bronze Age round barrows, and a linear ditch, perhaps of Roman date, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1). Geophysical survey and evaluation excavations in this area (NHER 64820) did not identify the ring ditches; they may not have lain within any of the excavated trenches. The excavators suggested that the linear ditch, which was identified by the geophysical survey, may be part of a Roman enclosure (S2).
