Summary

A group of ring ditches visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs probably represents the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow cemetery. The group is made up of six ring ditches (NHER 66300, NHER 66301, NHER 66302, NHER 66751, NHER 66752, and NHER 66753), one of which (NHER 66752) is only partially visible. Three (NHER 66302, NHER 66751, and NHER 66752) form a closely spaced linear alignment, while the other three are more widely spaced. Some of the ring ditches appear to be partially respected by – and presumably pre-date – a rectilinear field system and enclosure of unknown date (NHER 12786).

Further ring ditches have been recorded approximately 200m to the west of the site (NHER 36749), potentially indicating an extensive funerary landscape.
Most of the cropmarks described above were previously recorded as part of NHER 12786.
