Summary

A low, broad bank, visible as an earthwork on visualised lidar data, is probably the remains of a medieval and/or post medieval field boundary. It is one of several features of this type visible in the area (see NHER 66801 and 66798, for example). They appear to be unrelated to the cropmarks of Brampton Roman town (NHER 66780) which are also visible across the same area. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017), it is probable that the earthwork still survives.

A low, broad bank, visible as an earthwork on visualised lidar data (S1), is probably the remains of a medieval and/or post medieval field boundary. It is one of several features of this type visible in the area (see NHER 66801 and 66798, for example). They appear to be unrelated to the cropmarks of Brampton Roman town (NHER 66780) which are also visible across the same area; for this reason, the feature has been mapped by extent, to avoid confusion with these (presumably earlier) cropmarks. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017), it is probable that the earthwork still survives.
