Map

An undated earthwork mound, with a possible associated section of ditch, are seen as earthworks on visualised lidar data from 2017 (S4). The feature consists of a mound with a section of ditch surrounding the features northeast side. The mound and ditch seem to be cut by a possible modern path which can be seen on recent aerial photographs (S3). The form of the mound and ditch suggests that the features may relate to a large Bronze Age round barrow. However, On the 1940s (S1) aerial photographs a small, wooded area is visible at this location which is removed by the 1960s (S2). It is therefore possible that the mound may be a natural feature relating to the area of former woodland. Furthermore, the mound is situated within a modern garden on recent (2017) aerial photographs (S3) and it is therefore possible that this feature could be the product of modern gardening or landscaping.
