Full Description
August 2021. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
A possible Bronze Age ring ditch is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs (S1). The ring ditch may relate to a former Bronze Age round barrow. A previously recorded Bronze Age round barrow (NHER 7478) is suggested to be mapped on the Ordnance Survey 1838 First edition one-inch map at this location (See NHER 7478). It is unclear as to whether this ring ditch relates to the Barrow recorded as part of 7478 or weather it relates to a separate feature. Therefore this ring ditch been recorded separately to NHER 7478. It is also possible that the ring ditch may be a natural feature. The ring ditch is in close proximity to a further ring ditch approximately 260m to the west (NHER 64217).
