Map

March 2023. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a probable Bronze Age ring ditch are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The ring ditch most likely relates to the site of a Bronze Age round barrow. The southern section of the ring ditch appears to be slightly wider and more well defined as a cropmark on the aerial photographs. This may be due the southern section of the ring ditch possibly relating to an earlier or later phase of use or may be the result of changes in the fill of the ditch. Although the feature most likely relates to the site of a Bronze Age round barrow, it is also possible that the feature could relate to a later prehistoric sub circular enclosure.
