Summary

A systematic survey of part of this field in 2013/2014 recovered a prehistoric flint flake and a flint blade of possible Early Neolithic date. Subsequent metal-detecting at this location between 2023 and 2024 recovered a medieval jetton and a number of other metal objects, including Late Saxon silver coin brooch; medieval buckles and a medieval/post medieval shoulder plate from a whittle-tang knife.

Late Saxon gilt silver coin brooch made from penny of Edward the Confessor.
1 medieval jetton and 2 buckles.
Information from PAS import.
This silver coin brooch was returned to the finder after being disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2024 T229).
