Map

January 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The site of a possible Neolithic long barrow is seen as a cropmark on aerial photographs. From the form and dimensions of the ditch feature, it’s possible to suggest that the feature may relate to the site of a Neolithic long barrow. However, a large amount of geological cropmarks are seen across the area and its possible that the feature could instead be natural in origin. The cropmarks of a possible associated pit feature can be seen in close proximity centred at approximately TG 1995 2532. The pit feature has been mapped by extent as it’s also possible that the pit feature is natural in origin. An undated trackway (NHER 11541) can be seen on a similar alignment to the possible Neolithic long barrow, approximately 17m to the north.
