Full Description
December 2009. Desk-based Assessment.
Archaeological assessment of proposed route of onshore cable for Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm.
See report (S1) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 22 August July 2023.
July 2013–April 2014. Geophysical Survey.
Magnetometer survey of site on proposed route of Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm onshore cable (Field 37).
This survey identified a number of north-to-south aligned linear anomalies at the south-western end of the site, all of which are likely to be the result of recent cultivation. A negative linear anomaly at the western end of this group was probably caused by a modern tractor track.
A cluster of amorphous discrete positive anomalies in the central part of the site may represent infilled pits, ponds or hollows.
A large area of magnetic noise at the north-eastern end of the site probably represents an area where modern waste has been dumped.
See report (S2) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 22 August July 2023.
2014-2016. Watching Brief.
Maintained during installation of Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm onshore cable (General Watching Brief; Field 37).
No archaeologically-significant features or deposits were recorded at this location and no unstratified finds were recovered.
See assessment report (S3) for further details.
P. Watkins (HES), 22 August July 2023.
