Map

Possible post medieval drainage ditches and a pit which may have related to a former pond are seen as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S1-S2). The features consist of a series ditch features which may have related to former post medieval drainage ditches. The cropmarks of a rectilinear pit can be seen on (S1) which corresponds with an earthwork pit visible on the recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S2). It is possible that the pit may have related to a former pond, possibly associated with the drainage ditches. It is also possible that the pit may have related to an area of post medieval extraction. As the pit is visible on S2 it is likely that the feature still survives as a low earthwork. The possible drainage ditches and pit are not visible on the readily available historic maps such as S3 and S4.
