Map

June 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Field boundaries, probably of a medieval to post medieval date, are visible as earthworks (which have since been levelled) and cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1 and S3). The features can be seen well as earthworks (except for the ditch centred at approximately TF 8870 0912) on the 1940s aerial photographs (S1) and have been levelled by the 1970s (S2). The ditch centred at TF 8870 0912 is visible as cropmark on S3. The angled ditch feature centred at TF 8876 0911 may relate to a medieval to post medieval field boundary, section of a rectilinear enclosure of a medieval to post medieval date or possibly a post medieval to modern drainage ditch.
