Summary

A watching brief carried out in 1986 prior to the complete rebuild of the south gable wall of No 2 indicated the presence of some metres of deposit, though this has not been identified or dated.

Excavation undertaken by City Works Department for underpinning prior to complete rebuild of south gable wall of building. Only some 1m of rubble removed: below this softer made ground which was probed and indicated the possibility of some 2m or more of such material.
No finds.
