Summary

In 1979 a large quantity of medieval pottery was found in disturbed soil that had been spread across the western part of this field, along with prehistoric flint flakes and small amounts of Roman and post-medieval pottery. Subsequent metal-detecting between 2012 and 2019 has recovered a Late Saxon/medieval pottery sherd; Roman and medieval coins and a number of other metal objects, including a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman brooches, a bracelet and knife handle; medieval harness mounts and post-medieval buckles and an incomplete set of dividers.

Found over whole of western part of field (outside Scheduled area), spread with dyke-clearance and machine disturbed soil. Partly levelled before arrival.
