Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the fallen servicemen of Carleton Rode. The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of Portland stone. It was unveiled in September 1920.

Location: Graveyard, Church Road, Carleton Rode
Type: Latin cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of Portland stone. It it 3.6 metres tall. The cross stands on top of a square-section base that has decorative natural-style rock around the edges. The base has smooth faces which hold the inscription and sits on top of four steps.
Proposed: W. H. Brown and committee of Carleton Rode.

Cost: £100 raised by public subscription
Unveiled: 5 September 1920 by Major Cantley and dedicated by the Archdeacon of Norfolk, G. M. McDermott.
