Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the servicemen of Ellingham. The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of Portland stone. The memorial was constructed around 1920.

Location: St Mary’s Churchyard, Mill Pool Lane, Ellingham
Type: Latin cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of Portland stone. The cross has a collar below the cross head and an octagonal shaft. This sits atop a tapering four-side plinth on top of a three-step octagonal base. The main inscription is placed on the east face of the plinth. The WW1 names are on the north and south faces of the plinth. There is the additional WW2 inscription on the top step of the base on the east face.
