Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the servicemen of the parish of Kelling. It is in the form of a short cross made of stone, constructed around 1920.

Location: Junction of the A149 and The Street, Kelling
Type: Cross
Description: The memorial is a short stone cross approximately 4 metres high on a small green. The cross has a “foliate head rising from a crown, set on top of a tapering octagonal shaft. That rises from a fairly small square plinth, which itself is set on a five-sided base of two main stages, the lower stepped out as a shelf for wreaths” (S2). The principal inscription is on the plinth with the names on the three other sides. The final inscription is on the upper stage of the base.
