Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the servicemen of the parish of North Tuddenham. It is in the form of a medieval Calvary cross made of limestone and was erected around 1920.

Location: Churchyard of the Church of St Mary, Mattishall Lane, North Tuddenham
Type: Cross (Calvary)
Description: The memorial is in the form of a gabled medieval Calvary cross made of limestone. The cross head is on a fluted column with a collar, which sits upon a tapering square plinth on a single-step base. The original inscription is split in two parts, the first on the front face of the plinth, the second on another. The other sides of the plinth are listed with names. Sides of the base hold the dates of the wars.

Unveiled: Assumed planned and erected around 1920, when the majority of Norfolk’s war memorials were commissioned. Additional research required.
