Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the war fallen of the parish of Burnham Thorpe. The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of limestone. It was erected around 1920.

Location: Churchyard of All Saints Church, Church Lane, Burnham Thorpe
Type: Cross (Latin)
Description: The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of limestone. The shaft is octagonal with a carved collar. It sits on an octagonal plinth on top of a two-stepped base. The memorial is approximately 3.6 metres tall. The initial inscription is around the top of the plinth in medieval-style lettering. The names are written in plainer lettering with their regiment and date of death. A band of carved crosses sits under each name. An additional inscription commemorating WW2 fallen is around the moulded base of the plinth, also in medieval-style lettering.
