World War One memorial with World War Two additions
Location: Churchyard of the Church of St Andrew, Mill Street, Buxton
Type: Wheel-head cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a wheel-head cross made of Portland stone. It is 3.3 metres high with an octagonal shaft with a moulded base. This sits on a tapering plinth and a two-stepped base. The inscriptions are placed on the front and back faces of the plinth, with names listed on the remaining two faces. 20 servicemen of the 73 who joined up in WW1 were killed. Four names were added from the Second World War.
