Summary

A World War One memorial commemorating the five fallen servicemen of Boughton. It is in the form of a Latin cross made of stone, erected around 1920.

Location: Churchyard of All Saints Church, Church Lane, Boughton
Type: Latin cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross constructed of stone. It sits atop a shaft with chamfered corners. The shaft is placed on a square-section plinth on top of a single stepped base. The inscription is on the left and right faces of the plinth, with the names on the front face and the war dates on the back. The main inscription has been replaced by inserted marble slabs.

Unveiled: Assumed planned and erected around 1920, when the majority of Norfolk’s war memorials were commissioned. Additional research required.

2009. Restoration.
The memorial was conserved through cleaning and the main inscription was replaced with marble slabs inserted into the faces of the plinth.
