Full Description
World War One memorial with World War Two additions
Location: Village Green, Caston
Type: Wheel-head Cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a wheel-head cross made of grey Aberdeen granite. The cross has decorative Celtic knot-work carvings. It has a tapering shaft and sits on a four-sided plinth on top of a two-step base. The granite memorial sits on a two-step base made of concrete. There are four posts placed at the corners of the lowest step of the concrete base. The inscriptions are placed on the faces of the plinth.
