Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating fallen servicemen from Denver, Fordham, Roxham, Ryston, and Bexwell. The memorial in is the form of a Latin cross made of Portland stone. It was constructed in 1919.

Location: Village green at junction of Sluice Road and Whin Common Road, Denver
Type: Latin Cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of Portland stone. It has a hexagonal shaft placed on top of a hexagonal base. This sits atop four steps, also hexagonal. The inscriptions are placed on the base, with the primary inscription on the north face. The names of the fallen are recorded below their place of residence; the memorial commemorates the fallen from Denver, Fordham, Roxham, Ryston, and Bexwell. The WW2 names were added to the top step below the initial inscription and below the Fordham inscription. There are six stone posts surrounding the memorial connected by a chain.
