Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the fallen servicemen of West Dereham. The memorial is in the form of a Celtic cross made of granite. It was constructed around 1920.

Location: St Andrew’s Churchyard, Saint Andrew’s Walk, West Dereham
Type: Celtic Cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a Celtic cross made of granite. There is a Sword of Sacrifice carved in relief on the front face of the cross, pointing downwards. The cross stands on a plinth, which is atop a single step. Beneath the single step is one step of granite setts. The memorial is surrounded by four posts connected by an iron railing. The main inscription is placed on the base of the cross, with the plinth holding the names from WW1. An additional granite slab was placed against the memorial following WW2.
