Full Description
World War One memorial with World War Two additions
Location: St Martin’s Churchyard, High Street, Fincham
Type: Latin Cross
Description: The memorial is in the form of a Latin cross made of Portland stone. There is a carved relief of a Sword of Sacrifice on the cross face. The cross is placed on a square pillar with a moulded foot, which sits atop a two-step plinth on top of a square base. The pillar is gabled with decorative detailing and finials. The main inscription is placed on the south face of the pillar, with names listed on the east and west faces. The north face holds the additional WW2 inscription. The memorial is surrounded by four metal posts connecting by chains.

Unveiled: Assumed planned and erected around 1920, when the majority of Norfolk’s war memorials were commissioned. The memorial was extant by June 1920. Additional research required.
