Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the servicemen of Flitcham. The memorial is in the form of an obelisk made of stone. It was erected by May 1920.

Location: Anmer Road (B1153) at junction with Church Road, Flitcham
Type: Obelisk
Description: The memorial is in the form of an obelisk made of stone. It sits on a four-died plinth with a moulded foot. The plinth is placed on a single-step base of stone. The plinth has triangular pediments on each side. The inscriptions were originally inscribed on the stone but are now on a slate plaque attached on the west face of the plinth. The memorial is placed in a triangular garden and is surrounded by a small wall and hedge.

Unveiled: Assumed planned and erected around 1920, when the majority of Norfolk’s war memorials were commissioned. The memorial was extant by May 1920.
