Summary

A World War One memorial with World War Two additions commemorating the servicemen of East and West Somerton. The memorial is in the form of a pillar with a lion at the top made of granite. It was constructed around 1920.

Location: Roadside, Junction of Church Road and Winterton Road, West Somerton
Type: Pillar
Description: The memorial is in the form of an octagonal pillar made of granite. At the top of the pillar is a sleeping lion. The pillar is placed on an octagonal plinth on top of an octagonal tier base. The WW1 inscription is placed on the north-east face of the pillar with the WW2 addition on the north-west face.
