Full Description
September 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Linear and curvilinear ditched boundaries of unknown but possibly medieval to post medieval date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S2). They appear to pre-date the pattern of enclosure depicted on 19th century maps, such as Wendling Enclosure map (S3). It is notable that the Tithe map for this area (S4) shows this location at the southern end of a large area of unenclosed land.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 21 September 2023.
