Map

September 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
Possible post medieval ridge and furrow and field boundaries can be seen as low earthworks (since levelled) on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The ridge and furrow appears to be straight rather than curved in form. This may suggest a post medieval date for the feature. However, it is also possible that the features could relate to modern cultivation marks. Two ditches aligned approximately east to west can be seen running through the centre of the fields. These ditches may relate to former field boundaries or drainage ditches. The features can be seen as low earthworks on S1-S2. The features are presumed to have been levelled as the features are no longer visible on later sources such as the recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S3).
