Map

September 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
An earthwork bank and ditch (which have since been levelled) most likely relating to a medieval to post medieval field boundary are seen on aerial photographs. The features are likely to be post medieval in date. However, an earlier medieval date cannot be ruled out. It is also possible that the features may have related to a former post medieval drainage ditch. The probable boundary is not visible on the readily available historic maps (for example S3 and S4). The ditch feature can be seen as a low earthwork on S1 and appears to have been levelled and visible as a soilmark on S2. The probable associated bank is also seen as a soilmark on S2 but not as an earthwork on S1.
