NHER 67631 (Cropmark and Earthwork record) - Site of a probable post medieval building platform

The site of a probable post medieval building platform can be seen as an earthwork (since levelled) on aerial photographs (S1). The feature consists of a rectilinear earthwork mound. The feature may relate to the site of a post medieval building recorded on the Tithe map (S4). The building does not appear on the later Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6" map (S5) or the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 25" map (S6). Although the feature is likely to be post medieval in date, an earlier medieval date cannot be ruled out. The probable building platform can be seen as an earthwork on the 1946 aerial photographs (S1). The feature is presumed to have been levelled as the earthworks are not seen on later aerial photographs (such as S2) or on the recent (2017) visualised lidar data (S3). A further mound possibly relating to the site of a post medieval building platform (NHER 67632) has been recorded approximately 35m to the south.
