Full Description
1942. Aircraft Crash.
A Liberator bomber carrying a 10-person crew crashed in Carrs Wood whilst on route from Hethel airfield to Europe.
The crew ensured the crash was in an unpopulated area, but unfortunately the entire crew was killed.

1992. Memorial.
50 years following the crash, a memorial is to be installed in St Edmunds Church (NHER 7912).

August 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The site of the plane crash is not apparent in April 1942 (S2) or May 1944 (S3). In September 1945 (S4) a slight clearing in the trees and some signs of ground disturbance are visible in the area of the previously recorded site.
