Summary

Trial trenching at this site in 2021 revealed several ditches, one of which was probably post-medieval. The remaining features all produced no dating evidence.

Evaluation of proposed development site.
The nine trenches revealed five ditches, the majority of which were undated. The one exception was a north-north-west to south-south-east aligned feature that produced single fragments of post-medieval pottery and clay tobacco pipe.
The varying alignments of the other ditches suggests they probably represented more than one phase of activity.
No unstratified finds were recovered.
