Full Description
December 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks described below were previously recorded as part of NHER 13099.
Features probably relating to medieval settlement and fields are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1-S4). Some elements correspond with boundaries depicted on Wendling Enclosure map (S5), but most are likely to be pre-19th century in date. The cropmarks of some of the ditches have a ‘braided’ appearance, suggesting that they have been re-cut several times.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 21 December 2023.
