Map

January 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project (volunteer strand).
A bank or causeway visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (such as S1) and visualised lidar data (S2), may have acted as a post medieval common-edge boundary. It appears to more or less correspond with the northern edge of Hoe Common as depicted on Faden’s 1797 Map of Norfolk (S3). At the same time, it is situated in a valley bottom and integrated with the surrounding drainage pattern, so a drainage function is also likely. It is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 2021 (S1) and is likely to still survive as an earthwork.
