Full Description
January 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project (volunteer strand).
Linear ditches, visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs (S1), are probably the remains of post medieval field boundaries. Some of the features correspond with field boundaries depicted on 19th century maps (such as S2). The archaeological significance of the more fragmentary features in the northern field is less certain; they may instead be of geological or agricultural origin.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 5 January 2024.
