Summary

Linear ditches and banks, visible as cropmarks and in a few cases as earthworks on aerial photographs and visualised lidar data, represent the remains of post medieval field boundaries. Many of the features correspond with boundaries depicted on 19th century maps. An earlier, potentially medieval origin for some elements, however, cannot be ruled out. As the lidar survey was flown relatively recently (2017) it is likely that any earthworks evident on the visualisations still survive.
