Map

December 2023. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a probable post medieval field boundary are seen on aerial photographs (S1). The feature is not depicted on any readily accessible historical maps (such as the Ordnance Survey 1st edition 6 inch map (S2)), but fits the same general pattern of enclosure, suggesting that although an earlier origin cannot be ruled out, the feature is likely to be of a post-medieval date. Cropmarks of post medieval field boundaries recorded on the readily accessible historical maps (such as S2) are also seen on the aerial photographs (S1). These features have not been mapped as they are recorded in good detail on the historic maps.
