Full Description
September 2019. Metal-detecting. [1].
Found in close proximity, "two to five inches down":
Medieval coin hoard of 9 silver coins found in 10 fragments. These coins comprise 2 pennies, 3 cut halfpennies and 2 cut quarters of pennies of Stephen (1135-1154) and 2 cut quarters of Short Cross pennies produced between the reigns of Henry II and Henry III (1154-1272). The Short Cross pennies were most likely some the earliest minted, with this hoard or purse loss probably entering the ground during the 1180s or shortly after.
Information from PAS import.
These coins were submitted for consideration as Treasure (Ref: 2019 T1088).
