Full Description
February 2024. Wendling Beck and Fransham Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of pits of an unknown date are seen on aerial photographs (S1-S3). The features may have related to former post medieval extraction pits. It is also possible that the features could have related to Wendling Second World War Airfield (NHER 7275) or to elements of a medieval to post medieval field system recorded in close proximity (NHER 36135). Equally, it is possible that the features could be natural in origin.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 25 February 2024.
