Summary

This two-storey building was built as a house in the early 17th century and converted to a shop in the late 19th century. Its has flint and brick walls which are rendered and whitewashed at the ground floor and a pantile roof.

Listing Description excerpt:
"House, now shop. Late 17th century, converted to shop [in] late 19th century. Flint and brick, the ground floor rendered and whitewashed; pantile roof. Exterior: two storeys and dormer attic. Two-window range. Late 19th-century canted shop display window to left. Doorway to right of centre, with a reeded surround and a hood on modillion consoles...Rebuilt parapet with 19th-century cast-iron cresting...Internal rebuilt gable-end stacks east and west. Interior: east wall with blocked fireplace, formerly with winder stair on south side. Chamfered bridging beams with tongue stops to ground and first floors. 18th-century roof: principals, two tiers of taper-tenoned butt purlins and collars."

[Nos 25, 27 and 29 originally an] early 17th-century house altered 19th century converted to shops. Flint and brick, rendered. YT plan. Internal gable stack to east. Rear wing with east doorway with label stops. 19th-century windows. Reset datestone 1655. Interior has tongue and runout stops. Ground floor east room with two wave moulded bridging beams with runbout stops. Rear wing roof of upper crucks.
